DOOMRANK

Delete your account

Doomrank (formerly Cooked) · Updated

This page explains how to delete your Doomrank account, what is deleted, and what may remain. Doomrank was called Cooked, and some versions of the app still show that name. The steps are the same.

Deleting your account is permanent. It starts immediately, there is no waiting period, and it cannot be undone.

Do you pay for Doomrank Pro? Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it first in your App Store or Google Play account settings, or you may keep being charged.

1. Delete in the app

  1. Open Doomrank and go to the Profile tab, the fourth tab at the bottom.
  2. Tap the gear icon at the top right to open Settings.
  3. In the Account section, tap Delete Account.
  4. The app asks you to confirm: "This will permanently delete your account and stats. The app will close — reopen to start fresh." Tap Delete Account.

When the deletion is finished, the app deletes your profile photo from your phone, clears its saved settings and signs you out (on Android it also closes). The next time the app starts, it creates a new, empty account.

If you see "Could not delete account. Please try again.", the deletion did not finish. Anything already deleted stays deleted. Your sign-in is removed last, so you can open the app and tap Delete Account again to finish the rest.

2. Delete without the app

If you no longer have the app, email support@doomrank.app with the subject "Delete my account". So we can find your account and check that it is yours, include:

  • your username, and your friend code if you have it.
  • the phone number you verified in the app, if you verified one.

If you linked Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, send the email from the email address linked to the account.

We handle deletion requests promptly. We delete the same data as the in-app option and reply when it is done. If we cannot match the account to you, we will ask for more details before we delete anything.

3. What is deleted

Deleting your account removes, straight away:

  • Your profile: username, avatar code, country, platform, tier, birth year, friend code and phone-number code.
  • Your screen-time history: every daily total stored with your account.
  • Your follows: people you follow, people who follow you, and requests in both directions.
  • Your block list.
  • Your phone-number lookup entry, so contact matching stops finding you.
  • Your leaderboard entries on the boards for today and yesterday, every Last 7 days board, this month and last month, and this year and last year. This covers every board you are recorded on: Global, your country and your age group.
  • Your sign-in record in our sign-in provider (Firebase Authentication), including the email address, name and verified phone number stored with it. It is removed last, so that if something fails part-way you can still sign in and try again. If you used Sign in with Apple, you can also remove Doomrank from your Apple ID: on iPhone open Settings, tap your name, then Sign in with Apple (or Password & Security > Apps Using Apple ID), choose Doomrank or Cooked, and tap Stop Using Apple ID.

4. What may remain, and for how long

Some data is not removed by the deletion, or is removed later. Any leaderboard entry that remains shows only as "Anonymous", with no flag, because your profile is gone. Other people's apps still receive your account ID with it.

  • Day boards before yesterday. These can keep your entry until they are deleted automatically. A day board is deleted 9 days after its last update, so these entries are gone within about 15 days of your deletion.
  • Older month and year boards. A month board from before last month, or a year board from before last year, can keep your entry until it is deleted automatically: 70 days after its last update for a month board, and 750 days after its last update for a year board.
  • Boards for a country or age group you left. If you changed country, or moved to a new age group, before last month, the boards for your old country or age group can keep your entry until they are deleted automatically, on the same schedule.
  • If the leaderboard step fails. If our leaderboard service cannot be reached during the deletion, the rest of the deletion still goes ahead. Your entries then stay until each board is deleted automatically: 9 days after its last update for a day board, 21 days for a Last 7 days board, 70 days for a month board and 750 days for a year board.
  • Leaderboard bookkeeping. Small records that hold your account ID and a counter for the boards above are deleted on the same schedule as those boards. Older records that note your country and age group are deleted 70 days after their last update.
  • Reports. Reports other people made about your account, and reports you made, are kept. A report holds account IDs, the reasons chosen, dates and the reported account's username. We keep them so that deleting an account cannot erase a record of abuse.
  • Limit counters. Two small counters used to limit misuse, one for reports and one for contact matching, are kept. Each holds only your account ID, a start time and a count.
  • Other people's block lists. If someone blocked you, their block list keeps your account ID and a copy of your username at the time, until they unblock you or delete their own account.
  • Crash reports. Crash reports already sent to Firebase Crashlytics are kept by Google for 90 days. After that, Google starts deleting them. They contain your account ID, device model, operating system version and technical details of the error. They can also contain the account ID of someone you blocked, unblocked or reported, with the reason for a report, and other people's crash reports can contain your account ID in the same way. They do not contain your screen time, username or contacts.
  • Billing and purchase records. If you used a version of the app where Doomrank Pro is available, our billing provider, RevenueCat, keeps its record of your account ID. If you bought Doomrank Pro, Apple or Google and RevenueCat keep the purchase records, linked to your account ID, for billing, refunds and legal reasons. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription.
  • Emails to us. If you emailed us, including a deletion request, we keep the email as long as we need it to deal with your request.
